Triangle Passing Drill
- Setup
Arrange three players in a triangle formation on the court, maintaining proper spacing.
Place defensive players in the passing lanes or near the receiver to simulate pressure.
- Execution & Trapping Mechanics
Passing: The ball handler uses strong pivots and pass fakes to create a clear angle before delivering a crisp, accurate pass to an open teammate.
Trapping Defense: On the pass, two defensive players close in quickly on the receiver to form an aggressive trap, using proper leg positioning to cut off escape routes.
- Rotations & Alternate Setup
Rotations: Players continuously rotate positions after passing and trapping to maintain momentum and practice all roles.
Variation: Shift the distance or angle of the triangle to adjust difficulty and simulate different game scenarios.
Watch the below video for visual demonstrations of proper trapping mechanics, pivot techniques, and dynamic drill rotations.
